How very appropriate at this time of year.
Most of the categories in the JOE Men of the Year awards were designed to recognise men that we all know and admire for their exploits in the worlds of sport, music, entertainment and other areas in Irish life.
So much of our content on JOE, however, relies on ordinary folk who are catapulted into the public eye on the back of something that brought them to the attention of the entire country and often the entire world too.
The contenders for our Viral Internet Hero of 2015 all fit the description above, but the winner is a man whose distinctive voice warmed all our hearts in freezing conditions earlier this year.

Ruairí McSorley’s velvety tones are as easy on the ear now as when he first uttered his ‘frostbit’ warning back in January and if this guy’s voice isn’t used in a professional capacity in the future then someone is missing a trick.
