Here is where Ireland ranks when it comes to how early our nightclubs close

It’s bad news for anyone who enjoys a late one…

Dublin city centre can be quite vibrant on any given night. There’s plenty of different nightclubs that cater to loads of different styles.

And despite the fact that the greatest nightclub that this country had to offer recently shut down, we’d like to still think that we’ve got it pretty good.

Well, apparently not.

According to Traveloka, a travel company, nightclubs in Ireland tend to close earlier than other countries around the world.

Apparently, the average time for a nightclub in Ireland to close at is 12.30am, which seems dreadful compared to places like Athens, where the time is closer to 2am.

And although there are definitely some places that stay open until what feels like all hours (Coppers definitely does not close by 12.30), there is obviously somewhere bringing down the national average…

You can see the figures in full, and agree or disagree, here.

Maybe we should have seen this coming, given the wave of places shutting down in recent times. We mentioned The Palace earlier on, and Lillie’s Bordello and Club 92 have both announced that their iconic doors will be closing for the final time soon enough.

What a shame.
