Did you know we’re in the depths of Irish Cocktail Month right now??

Set up in 2016, Irish Cocktail Fest usually lasted just one week, but this year it has been stretched out to a whole month.

Right now, bars from all 32 counties are taking part and coming up with their own unique creation to put forward for the prestigious award of Best Cocktail in Ireland.

Each of the entries must include an Irish spirit as part of the concoction, in order to qualify for the “Irish” part of the “Best Irish Cocktail” award, which makes sense, really.

Last year, the prize went to The Lodge at Ashford Castle in Cong, County Mayo, for their cocktail the Wilde’s Atlantic Way (that is a picture of it up top, btw), which included the Connemara Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey.

The organisers of the festival month are also hosting Irish Cocktail Parties on Saturday 13 and Saturday 20 October in Dublin Bar Academy.

Tickets for the parties can be purchased here, and at them you get four cocktails made with Irish spirits, plus there’ll be a special tasting room where you can taste the gorgeous spirits on their own so that you can all learn about what you’re drinking!
