Big calls as 2023’s best takeaways in Ireland have been revealed

Simon Kelly

Yes, we’re suddenly very hungry right now too…

We’ve been waiting with bated breath all year but finally the winners of Ireland’s most important awards have been revealed.

That’s right, the Irish Takeaway of the Year Awards took place this week and the nation’s favourite eateries have been chosen. The outright winner of the most prestigious award was Dungarvan fish & chips shop AndChips, which also picked up the Champion Chip award.

Dublin was shafted for the most part with just the one takeaway from the capital picking up an award – Saba To Go winning Multiple Operator of the Year.

Shane Smith, Managing Director of NI Media who run the awards said:

“Food to go is one of the fastest growing sectors in the foodservice sector. Customer expectations are high and the modern Irish diner has a discerning palate. The standards that we encountered this year were incredibly high and the quality of food delivered was outstanding. We are lucky to have an extensive panel of researchers and every entrant to the awards was inspected by experienced judges. We’d like to thank them and everyone who took part in this year’s programme.”
