Conor McGregor

Walk into any Irish pub on a Saturday night and you’re guaranteed to see half of the male punters dressed in beard and blazer combinations that definitely owe something to the hottest star in the UFC right now. True to his persona, McGregor has never made any apologies for wanting to look good all the time and though his taste is expensive, it hasn’t stopped men in Ireland and beyond trying to style themselves like The Notorious. You need to have confidence to pull it off but McGregor has certainly never been lacking in that department.

Al Porter

‘Dress for the job you want, not the job you have’ seems to be the motto that the young Tallaght native abides by and as long as he’s been appearing on TV, Porter has suited up like a man destined to host his own show someday. We don’t think he’ll mind us saying that dressing as he does helps to disguise the fact that he’s still ridiculously young and looks it. Like McGregor, Porter’s look reflects his personality; it’s loud and colourful and guaranteed to make people stand up and take notice.

Tommy Bowe

Bowe’s popularity with both sexes has no doubt helped his Lloyd and Pryce clothing line to become such a success and his Irish teammates must be delighted with the free gear he seems to regularly dispense to the squad. Style-wise, when he’s not playing rugby or donning a tux for an awards do, the Monaghan man always looks smart and casual in outfits that most men would be comfortable in.

Deric Hartigan

Hartigan is very much reflective of a new generation of Irish men that like to keep in shape and look good and aren’t afraid to show it either. Have a quick glance through Hartigan’s Twitter feed and you’re likely to see as many pictures of him pumping iron in the gym as you are of him in front of a camera on TV3. Donal Óg Cusack

The Sunday Game has become something of a fashion contest in recent seasons, but Donal Óg set the trend and let’s just say that Ó’Sé, Shefflin and the rest of them have a bit of catching up to do. The RTE GAA studio was traditionally a place where men wore adult-sized versions of suits they’d wear to their communion, but Cusack has raised the bar. Who knows, maybe he’ll be the first selector in the GAA to wear a suit on matchday when he’s running the line with Davy Fitz next season?
