That’s right folks, Father’s Day is fast approaching so here are five more great ideas to help you choose the perfect present…

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Yes, we admit it; this is one of those presents that will, if you play your cards right, ultimately end up in your possession.

For now though, Peter Jackson’s second super installment in The Hobbit trilogy is the perfect film for your Dad to put his feet up and enjoy, as Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) and his company of courageous dwarves continue on their dangerous quest to reclaim their homeland of Erebor from the scaly grasp of the charmingly villainous dragon, Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch).

Along the way they are accompanied by our plucky titular hobbit, Bilbo ‘the Burglar’ Baggins (an impeccably cast Martin Freeman), who is now in possession of the One Ring.

The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug is a movie with Jackson and Co. most certainly back to their best and, as a result, YOU SHALL NOT PASS… on getting your Dad this Blu-ray 3D, Blu-Ray or DVD.

Mondello Park

Vroom vroom!

You can forget your relaxing Sunday drives along the coast because this is where your Dad finally gets to let out his inner Jensen Button. We’d say he could put down the window and let his hair blow in the wind too, but we all know he hasn’t got much hair left, right? Right.

Sorry Dad.

There are number of awesome options for you to choose for your Father at Ireland’s only international motorsport venue, from speeding around the track in a Formula One look-a-like single-seater racer, to learning how to Prodrift with one of the venue’s professional Prodrift Academy experts.

“World’s Best Dad” Mug

We know, we know. A mug that has the phrase “World’s Best Dad” emblazoned across it is incredibly cliched but, and bear with us here, it’s so cliched that your Dad probably doesn’t actually own one. A travesty if you ask us.

It’s time to right that wrong and so, this Father’s Day, man up and buy your Dad that dreaded drinking apparatus. Go on, you know you secretly want to…

Whiskey Distillery Tour

First things first, just make sure that you organise this particular tour on a different day from the race car driving, OK? We wouldn’t want you getting into trouble with the law now would we…

If your Father’s the kind of man who likes to sup on a short or two, then a tour of one of this country’s finest whiskey distilleries is the perfect present for this Father’s Day. Located in Dublin and Cork, these classic, authentic distilleries provide unforgettable experiences as visitors take part in a tutored whiskey tasting test, where each person receives one of the much-coveted Irish Whiskey Taster Certificate.

A certificate for drinking whiskey? Yes please…
