Have you been to this store recently?

On the evening of Friday 31 August, we found out that nobody won the big Euromillions jacket, which was for a tasty €36,535,987.

However, someone in Ireland is €500,000 richer after matching the five numbers for the Euromillions Plus.

Those winning numbers were 5, 7, 8, 9 and 17.

We had previously known that the ticket was sold somewhere in the South of the country, but now we know not only the exact county, not only the exact town, but the exact store it was sold in.

The winning ticket was bought at the Spar shop in Caherciveen in Count Kerry.

Shop owners Tracy and Jack Fitzpatrick said the town is buzzing with excitement: “We can’t believe it. There is huge excitement and buzz in the store today everybody is in great form.

“We are a very busy shop with a lot of passing traffic and we had a bumper summer with tourists so it could be a local or a visitor. But we are keeping our fingers crossed it is a local.

“We are certainly a lucky shop and no strangers to the big winners. It is fantastic for the town and local community.”

The spokesperson for the National Lottery said: “We are urging all our players in Kerry, or anybody who was visiting Caherciveen, to check their tickets. And if somebody realizes they are the lucky ticket holder we are asking them to sign the back of the ticket and keep it safe until they contact the National Lottery Office on Monday.”
