PICS: The new male and female Garda tracksuits will be a big hit this summer

Never has authority looked so good.

Limerick-based rapper MXSE (pronounced as Mace), AKA Mason Roche, caused a small stir in Irish fashion circles earlier this year when unveiling a Garda tracksuit, a simple yet eye-catching design inspired by the Garda cars you see on Irish roads on a daily basis.

Photos of the tracksuit caused quite the reaction when debuted on JOE, which is why it’s no surprise that MXSE has added to the Garda range with two brand new offerings that cater for both sexes, a navy uniform for the lads and a ‘Bean Garda’ line for the ladies.

Like the initial design, which MXSE unveiled to coincide with the release of his EP, Throwing Shade, earlier this year, the new designs sport a logo that reads ‘Garda’ but are not in any way associated with An Garda Síochána, thus avoiding accusations of impersonating a Garda being directed at those wearing it.

Gardaí are aware of the existence of the tracksuits, however, and have allowed MXSE to do a photoshoot with a Garda car at Henry Street Garda Station in Limerick.

Stocks of the tracksuits are currently limited and will be available at festivals and gigs MXSE is playing over the summer, but speaking to JOE, he has not ruled out the range being made more widely available in the near future given the level of interest in the tracksuit range to date.

MXSE will provide updates on the availability of the tracksuits on his Instagram and Facebook pages.

MXSE’s debut EP, Throwing Shade, is available on Spotify, Apple Music and iTunes.
