Mark Hamill and Chris Evans discuss what would win in a fight; a lightsaber or Captain America's shield

The Force is strong with the first Avenger.

With the week that's in it, filled with BDE and heatwaves alike, it's understandable to think we're all somewhat lost out heads.

Two people who haven't lost their heads, however, are Mark Hamill and Chris Evans, who are currently embroiled in a Twitter battle debating what would win, Luke's lightsaber or Cap's shield.

The question was posed by a weary dad who took to Twitter when he son asked, in earnest, "Can a lightsaber cut through Captain America's shield?"

Now although this question may never be answered in the real world, Twitter exists, and so the actors who play Luke Skywalker and Captain America were happy to weigh in for the desperate father, who said the matter involved “the toughest question I’ve ever had to answer as a father.”

Hamill was the first to take the bait, claiming to know exactly what would happen should the situation arise in either universe.

And he’s probably dead right, Skywalker would never go to battle against a hero.

Evans, who is no stranger to social media spats, then steps into the ring.

He was happy to play along coyly, referencing that Hamill's ideas were pointless as his compromised shield could then, in turn, be used as “vibranium ninja stars" and fired in his direction.

Wise move.

We mean... It's kind of hard to beat that.
