Our mouths are already watering.

The legendary Meatopia festival is returning to Dublin this summer in conjunction with Guinness.

The festival, which came to Ireland for the first time last year, boasts “unique dishes grilled or smoked over sustainable wood and charcoal, matched with Guinness Draught, Open Gate brewery beers and experimental brews created for the culinary feast.”

The three-day festival will be hosted at the Open Gate between the 6th and 8th of July.

Meatopia’s “manifesto” certainly makes it sound like the place to be for any meat-eater: “Meatopia is the only food festival that curates the entire menu. First, hand selecting our wish list of chefs, and then by visiting them and tasting the dishes in advance. We insist on ethically produced and sustainable ingredients. Only by doing this can we deliver the broad palate of taste and style for which we are known.”

According to a statement from Guinness, the festival will also feature “top Irish and international live-fire chefs, brewers, beer sommeliers and the wonderful mix of passionate individuals and collectives from the worlds of beer, food and fire.”

For anyone lucky enough to get a ticket, there will also be beer tastings, butchery demonstrations and food workshops.
