PIC: Expect the IT Tralee ‘lunch club’ idea to spread to other Irish colleges

Tony Cuddihy

Community spirit is alive and well among Tralee’s students.

Why didn’t we think of this when we were studying how to write the goodest content on the interstream?

Steve Clifford is the Deputy President of the IT Tralee Students’ Union, and he wrote to JOE to tell us about how students in the college have started coming together to share food, save money and eat in a healthier way.

“It’s an inspiring moment I caught in the college on Tuesday,” he tells us.

“A group of students sharing food in order to “save money” and “eat healthier”. I found it to be an incredible statement of the lengths students will go towards creating a community and promote the social benefits of student life.

“They regularly do this lunch club and I couldn’t help but think later this evening that the cost of college life hasn’t broken students yet. It has created initiative and active student engagement. Can’t believe I didn’t think of this as a student back in the day.”

Can’t go wrong with this.
