PIC: Galway girl dressed for wedding, refuses to forget her farming commitments

One of the best photos of the year…

Weddings are always special days, but they can never take precedence over farming in an agricultural family.

Step forward Fiona Finnerty from Galway, who was all dolled up for a wedding on Saturday, when farming duties were required.

She had her suitcase in the car and was getting ready to go. A quick cup of tea and a slice of toast was being consumed at the table when her brother Gavin ran in the door and told her he needed her help.

Fiona couldn’t even enjoy her tea and toast in comfort and was out on the road blocking sheep while she was garbed in her wedding outfit.

To make matters even more dramatic, her boyfriend was waiting for her but Fiona, in true commitment to the farming, made him wait while she directed the sheep.

But never fear, Fiona made the wedding and we’ve been informed that her boyfriend’s family were very impressed by her exploits earlier in the day, and by God they should be.

We’re just happy that Fiona was diligent at her post, otherwise we could have ended up with a scene like this from Tullamore last year when a herd of sheep with astray and ended up invading a driving range.
