PIC: Irish woman receives care package disguised as “Holy Water” in Australia

Alan Loughnane

Well, some would consider it holy…

Like many young Irish people, Suz Tutty-Heaney from Hollywood, Co. Wicklow is currently over in Australia, working hard for the land down under while living in Perth.

She works in a remote location called Pilbara, a sparsely populated region in Western Australia, where she works four weeks followed by a week off back in Perth.

Suz obviously looks forward to her week off after four tough weeks of work and this is made even better when you have a package from back home in Ireland waiting for you.

Speaking to JOE, Suz said: “Today, after a long 4 weeks I got back to my house in Glendalough (yes, a name sake of Glendalough Co. Wicklow), I came home to a parcel from my mam.”

“Not sure what it was as I wasn’t expecting anything and I see she has noted on the customs declaration its description as St. Kevin’s Glendalough Water (Holy).

“This didn’t surprise me as Mam wouldn’t be unknown to sending such items so I ripped open the padded envelope which was protecting the box.

“Once I got through the several layers of packaging this is what I found, Glendalough Poitín!”

“The best type of Holy a Water, you can’t beat Irish Mammies and their care packages,” Suz said.
