Ladbrokes are giving brilliant odds on there being snow in Ireland this Easter

Colm Boohig

Is anybody dreaming of a white Easter?

It’s unseasonably cold at the moment, even in Irish terms, and as we reported earlier, the weather isn’t showing any signs of warming up for us.

Well, if it’s going to be nippy you might as well make some money off it, and Ladbrokes have made that option extremely tempting over Easter.

They have given odds of just 6/1 on a white Easter, while offering only 2/1 that March temperatures in Dublin will be even lower than three years ago, when a monthly average of 3.1 degrees made it the coldest March since records began.

Ladbrokes aren’t done there, with odds of 9/2 given that snow will cause Dublin Airport to close over the Easter weekend.

Meanwhile, relatively risk-free odds of 4/1 are on offer for the coldest Easter Sunday in Irish history.

Hayley O’Connor of Ladbrokes has told JOE:

“We’re predicting we’ll need more than our bonnets to keep us warm over a snowy Easter weekend, and temperatures could bounce to their lowest.”
