PIC: People are up in arms over the dwindling size of Quality Street tins

Quality Street

An outrageous carry on.

Fast forward your mind to Christmas day, you’ve devoured your dinner and you’re lying on the couch about to explode thanks to a massive food baby.

Despite being stuffed, you still manage to shove chocolate in your gob and one of Ireland’s favourite Christmas sweets are Quality Street.

The chocolate sweet has caused some outrage online this week. Outrage on the internet you ask? Yes, it happens from time to time.

Outrage

The reason for the big who-ha is because of this photo that’s been shared on Facebook by Charlotte Stacey Hook.

She wrote to Quality Street’s official page saying, “Been putting the Christmas tree up, always keep my tins to put my decorations in after Christmas! Look how They’ve changed in size from 1998 till 2014! Bring back the big tins!!! Loyal quality street customer.”

Here’s the photo.

Vicky Lomax: “Wow no wonder I’m eating the tin all by myself…way too small.”

Natalie Tarrant: “Yes and charge us way more and nothing is done about it.”

Karen Smith: “The mad thing is they think we don’t notice.. And they don’t pre-warn you they’re going to make them smaller.”

Quality Street have cleared the whole thing up by releasing this statement to the metro.co.uk.

“This image does not compare products like for like. As well as the 780g tub pictured, we also have a 1.3kg tin available which lovers of Quality Street might like to try as an alternative this Christmas.

‘We want to give the best possible value for money and we believe that this product is still extremely competitive”.

Fair enough, we prefer Roses anyway.
