Did you hear the one about when the pope got stuck in the lift? What? This isn't the set up to a joke? Oh... Apparently Pope Francis was late for his weekly Sunday Angelus mass, and it was because he was, well, stuck in the lift in the Vatican. The 82-year-old said (via Gulf News), once he arrived at the mass: "I have to apologise for being late. I was trapped in a lift for 25 minutes, there was a power outtage but then the firemen came." Are we entirely sure this isn't a joke? It involves the pope and a fireman and a stuck elevator... (re-reads report)... Yeah, no, it is apparently entirely true. Either way, we hope the Pope had his rosary with him in the lift, because those 25 minutes probably felt like decades. #PopeHumourMost Viewed in life-style
