Shia LaBeouf is in trouble with the graphic novelist Daniel Clowes… again

The Transformers star Shia LaBeouf has opened up *sigh* yet another can of worms after he tweeted out a picture of more plagiarised work along with a cease and desist letter from Clowes’ lawyer.

Three weeks ago we brought you the news that the Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf was in quite a bit of hot water with the graphic novelist Daniel Clowes after LaBeouf blatantly copied Clowes’ work for his short film HowardCantour.com. After the incident received quite a bit of attention, LaBeouf apologised to Clowes on Twitter with an apology that he had copied from a Yahoo Answers page that asked “Why did Picasso say ‘good artists copy but great artists steal’”. Strangely, on January 1 this year, LaBeouf had the words “I am sorry Daniel Clowes” written over the Los Angeles area by a skywriter. The latest twist to befall the LaBeouf vs. Clowes debacle came in the form of yet another tweet from LaBeouf yesterday, after he tweeted out a picture of what he claims is a story board for his next movie called Daniel Boring… which just so happens to be the title of a graphic novel written by Clowes some years ago.

In response to the tweet, Clowes’ lawyer, Michael Kemp, wrote a cease and desist letter to LaBeouf’s lawyer, Brian G. Wolf, saying LaBeouf was “seriously out of control”. Bizarrely, LaBeouf then tweeted out pictures of the letter to his 82,000 followers, which is sure to p*ss off the people working on Clowes’ side.
