Feeling tired today? Here's the key to a good night of sleep

It all starts with the morning.

Yawn.

Are you tired? We're tired. We might not make it through this whole article without falling asleep but we'll try our very hardest.

Why is it that we never wake up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and ready to take on the world on a brand new day at work?

We could have a massive 16 hours of rest with no tossing and turning and we would still wake up the following morning absolutely wrecked.

Don't even get us started about the tossing and turning either. You're at work and you're tired all day and you come home and struggle your way through the evening just so you can hop into bed at 9pm in the hope of sleeping through the night.

ONLY TO HAVE YOUR SLEEP HALTED BY ALL THESE CONSTANT TWISTS AND TURNS.

However, this doctor believes to have cracked the secret to the perfect night's sleep.

According to the Independent, making yourself a very special type of breakfast is absolutely key in getting a good night of sleepy time.

If you eat eight almonds and two dates within the first half hour of waking up, you will get a fantastic night's sleep that following evening.

Dr Nerina Ramlakhan, a sleep therapist, says that having a handful of nuts and fruit provides the correct balance of protein, fat and carbohydrates to fire up the old metabolism.

We will definitely be trying this after a weekend of Bank Holiday craic.
