Space Cadets: Alex Jones, the guy who wanted to deport Piers Morgan

Alex Jones is what can safely be described as enthusiastic about the second amendment, to say the least, and he's also got the odd conspiracy theory or two.

Alex Jones is a radio host in America, and he's also a man who has fairly staunch views on the American constitution, in particular his right to bear arms. He's an author and a documentary maker too and if you were thinking about picking up the typewriter, if he can do it you definitely can.

His favourite past time is to talk about gun control in the United States, and most recently, he went on Piers Morgan to debate the topic with the Englishman.

We use the term debate very loosely, as it was mostly just Jones shouting for a period of about 20 minutes, saying everything and anything that came to mind, including challenging Piers to a boxing match where he'd dress in the red, white and blue of America.

Here's a clip of that event, and while it's about seven minutes long, it's only about half of the truly bizarre performance from Jones.

He claims that the banks and financial firms have taken all the guns off everyone except the Swiss and the Americans, as well as warning everyone that “1776 will commence again” (a reference to the American Declaration of Independence) if guns were taken out of the hands of regular Americans.

When confronted with facts, Jones doesn't do so well though, as when Morgan asked him to give a number on how many gun deaths there were in Britain, he responded with “how many chimps can dance on the head of a pin?”. A well thought out and reasoned response...

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Jones talked about his belief in a New World Order, which has “manufactured economic crises, sophisticated surveillance tech and — above all — inside-job terror attacks that fuel exploitable hysteria.”

Jones also believes the moon landings were faked by the government, and that they were also involved in the Oklahoma bombings and the September 11 attacks too.

While he seems like a right-wing nut job, he doesn't even want to be lumped in with them, saying we should forget the right and left wing ideas, and instead “examine the brain of the bird”.
