Looks like Santa got the job done in the nick of time.
Christmas Day in Ireland is set to be a wet and windy one – with spot flooding to be expected across the country.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rainfall warning for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Clare, Kerry, Limerick and Tipperary.
The meteorological website also mentioned that further rainfall is likely to lead to accumulations of 25mm – 35 mm. The warning is valid until 6pm on Monday, 25 December.

However, Met Éireann expect the showers to clear this evening. According to their weather forecast, today should be:
”Wet this morning in most parts of the country, with outbreaks of rain, heavy at times and with a risk of spot flooding, but brighter conditions, with scattered showers, will develop in the west and northwest. Rain in other areas will clear gradually eastwards during the afternoon, with scattered showers following, the clearance eventually reaching the east coast early this evening. Some hail showers are likely in the northwest later, with a risk of thunder, especially near the coast. Mild at first, but turning cold, with afternoon temperatures of 5 to 8 Celsius, in mostly moderate westerly winds.”
With tonight risking a touch of frost:
”Tonight, there will be further scattered showers in Ulster, Connacht and west Munster, especially in coastal areas and some of the showers will be wintry. Becoming mostly dry elsewhere, with clear spells. Cold, with frost and a risk of icy patches. Minimum temperatures minus 1 to plus 2 Celsius, in moderate westerly winds.”
