It’s almost on our doorstep.

The most expensive object in the world is set to be built just 170 miles from Ireland, in Somerset, UK.

A new nuclear power plant is being constructed in the area and it’s on course to surpass its projected budget, a whopping £24 billion (€30 billion), according to Greenpeace.

Here’s what the finished product should look like upon its completion.

EDF Energy’s plant is set to cost 18 times more than the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest skyscraper in Dubai, and will cost almost five times more than the Large Hadron Collider that sits under the France-Switzerland border near Geneva.

Greenpeace, however, have launched a petition asking UK’s Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osbourne, to stop the project and to invest the money in renewable energy instead.
