There’s a genealogy website called MooseRoots that has figured out the most common first names of male and female geniuses.
They compiled the information by going through a database of the names of 14,750 notable philosophers, mathematicians, writers, artists, composers, poets and Nobel Prize winners.
Here are the findings:
The top 10 first names for male geniuses:
- John
- Robert
- William
- Charles
- David
- James
- Richard
- Johann
- George
- Paul
The top 10 first names for female geniuses:
- Mary
- Elizabeth
- Maria
- Anne
- Margaret
- Susan
- Ruth
- Anna
- Alice
- Dorothy
If you’re name is John or Mary, don’t get too carried away.
They are two of the most common names in the world but it does give you a some bragging rights over your friends.
