Most men wait this long before introducing their partner to their parents

JOE

Introducing a girlfriend to parents is a big deal for some people.

There are many factors in deciding the right time to do it, most people want to wait until they are sure the relationship is serious, while others put it off because they don’t want their nice new girlfriend to meet their embarrassing parents in case she runs away.

Whatever the reason may be, it seems that the majority of people think after three months is about right.

In a recent survey by JOE.ie, over 50% of men said that they would wait at least three months before introducing their significant other to their parents. The same amount of women agreed.

One in three men felt that a month is enough time to wait and one in four women feel the same way.

Just under 20% of people surveyed think that you should wait six months while only 2% of people said over a year, we can’t help but feel bad for that two percent’s other half.

Interestingly, the majority of participants who said they would wait a year or more are between the ages of 35 and 44.
