Time very well spent we think…

To all slightly smitten men out there who’re considering taking the plunge and asking that special friend in your life for their hand in marriage, you could do a lot worse than follow this guy’s example.

Jim MacAulay knew that he wanted to marry his girlfriend of 12 years, Sophie Hancock, but he didn’t simply want to bring her to a nice restaurant and hide the ring in her champagne flute (not that there is anything wrong with that).

Instead, he used his connections to get in contact with a whole host of celebrities including Ed Sheeran, Bob Geldof and Rudimental to enlist their help to convince the love of his life that he was, indeed, the love of her life as well.

The result was simply outstanding and has made JOE very apprehensive about when it will be our turn to pop the question to our other half, what if she sees this video and expects something of a similar nature? *JOE takes out a brown paper bag and breathes into it aggressively*

MacAuley explained that “it took four years [to complete] because you can’t just go up to people and ask them, you have to meet them and establish that you aren’t an idiot.”

When he finally completed his four year ordeal achievement, he played the video to her during a friend’s Christmas party and to his delight, Sophie agreed to marry him.

The pair plan to be wed in 2015 and if Jim puts in half as much effort into his marriage as he did to the proposal, they will probably have a very happy marriage.
