Video: The process of how McDonald’s make their chips is very interesting

This made us hungry...

This made us hungry…

This may be a very sweeping statement but JOE thinks that almost every Irish person has tasted chips from McDonald’s at some point in their life.

If you know people that haven’t then they’re probably 1) an extreme foodie, 2) afraid of Ronald McDonald or 3) the world’s biggest Burger King fan.

While we’re of the opinion that chips from the local chipper can’t be beaten, we do enjoy having a few chips from the McDonald’s menu. Ketchup is essential though.

So what’s McDonald’s secret when it comes to making their chips? Great potatoes, special ingredients or just lots of love and special attention?

Na, it’s sodium acid pyrophosphate, dimethylpolysiloxane and hydrogenated soybean oil amongst many others. Mmm, just like our mam used to make.

Take a look.
