Zzzzzzzzzzzz.
We’ve all experienced some weird dreams before but I’d wager that not many people know a great deal about what goes on in their head when they nod off at night.
Heck, I don’t know what you dream about but maybe these facts might give you some information.
1) A chance for messing
If you want to feck with someone’s sleep then this 2009 study by the European Sleep Research Society is for you.
They found that presenting smells to a sleeping person could affect their dreams. Nice smells like roses produced positive dreams while bad ones, like the smell of rotten eggs, produced bad ones.
2) If you’re accused of being lazy
The average person will have over a hundred thousand dreams. So if people say that you’re lazy then just tell them that you’re catching up on your quotient.
3) We’re all psychic
Fifty percent of people report that they have had a pre-cognitive dream. Basically, this means that people swear that real-life events have already happened in their dream.
See, Minority Report was true.
4) Bad > Good
People remember negative dreams more easily than the positive ones. I still have vivid memories of a childhood dream where Freddie Krueger was chasing me around our local church.
Read into that what you will.
5) We’re all bird brains
Research by Jay Allan Hobson has shown that adults forget about 95 percent of their dreams.
Ever wake up and remember everything but forgot what it was within 2 minutes? You’re not the only one.
6) Over and over and over and over again
According to a 1996 study, between 60 and 75 percent of adults have recurring dreams.
7) Something to get a rise
Studies indicate that men can get up to 20 erections per dream cycle.
8) Not every organ is relaxing
Our brains are more active during sleep than during the day.
9) What about animals?
Pets dream also as seen in this rather brilliant clip.
10) It’s not all filth
66% of all the characters in a man’s dream are other men, but women’s dream contain an equal amount of women and men.
See ladies, not all men dream about Jennifer Lawrence. Well..
