WATCH: Jeremy Corbyn celebrates election ‘win’ with an epic-fail of a high-five

Rory Cashin

While the rest of the UK appears to be in total disarray, one person who is very happy this morning is Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.

With calls for the current PM to resign, the exchange rates for the Sterling in a freefall, everyone giggling over the “Hung Parliament”, and someone called Lord Buckethead considered a viable candidate, today has been what the Ancient Greeks would call One Of Those Days.

In the midst of all of this, Corbyn was in a celebratory mood, having garnered more seats than under the leadership of Ed Miliband or Gordon Brown.

And what did he do to really emphasize this celebration? He tried to go for a high-five.

Now… here’s the thing…

If you’ve got a good friend that you high-five all of the time, that’s fine. But Corbyn attempts the high-five here, in front of hundreds of reporters, with someone who he has clearly never high-five’d before.

All those cool points, almost lost immediately by…. this:

And if you’re wondering who that was who left Corbyn hanging in the wind, it was former Labour front bench-er Emily Thornberry.

She ditched her position in 2014 when some stuff she put up on Twitter got her in some hot water, but following last night’s results, the internet promptly became her biggest supporters, when she took part in an interview on BBC with David Dimbleby and promptly sassed the house down.
