Long gone are the days of ripping open the bag like a barbarian.
It turns out that we’ve been opening bags of spuds wrong our entire lives. Who knew that little string thing had a function?
The revelation came to us in in the form of an informative Youtube video featuring spuds bag opener extraordinaire, Princhie Carr.
Princhie’s daughter Katie spoke to JOE about how her father learned the trick of the trade.
”He knew from when he was younger and he had asked a coal man how they open the bags properly!”
He’s been around the block, it seems.
Turns out the trick to opening the bag is searching for the side with the shorter end of string protruding from it. Then simply pull the shorter end out until it unravels from the other side of the bag entirely.
