WATCH: Man with speaker on his bike sparked a street party during RAG week in Galway

Some crowd…

Galway RAG week has a reputation for being a bit wild, so much so that the Gardaí promised a zero-tolerance approach to any public drinking or anti-social behaviour this year.

There has not been an Student’s Union backed RAG Week in Galway since 2011 after they pulled support following a series of public order incidents.

Indeed, Gardaí and Revenue officers seized €50,000 of ecstasy and cannabis that were intended to be sold during RAG week in Galway.

But RAG week in Galway this year has been a rather more subdued affair, with little reports of anti-social behaviour and students generally doing themselves and their colleges proud.

Students were having great craic outside the Roisin Dubh last night as one man on his bike, accompanied by a speaker, manged to spark somewhat of a street party.

The footage was captured by Patrick O’Malley from his bedroom window, and he said: “The man with the speaker was like the Pied Piper”.
