*Experts have issued a vital warning to Irish people wishing to witness the phenomenon.
An incredible celestial event it set to take place in our skies on Monday, as the planet Mercury passes between Earth and the sun.
Experts, however, have warned people in Ireland not to look directly at the amazing occurrence with either the naked eye or with regular binoculars or a telescope, as doing so could have massive implications on your long-term vision.
Instead, scientists and astronomy clubs will hold special events around Ireland on Monday to enable people to safely view the amazing sight.

This will be a once-in-a-generation spectacle in Ireland, as a repeat of the same quality is not set to happen in the country for a number of decades.
The passing of Mercury between Earth and the Sun is due to occur between midday and 8pm on Monday in Ireland.
Considering this happens roughly only a dozen times every century, and the fact that
the weather in Ireland is looking decent enough, this event is unmissable.
