Shit just got real.
In Ireland, extreme weather events are so rare that we often use them as an excuse to go on the lash; better to go and let off some steam rather than be cooped up inside, right?
In Dublin, quite a lot of people would turn to one of the city’s most famous nightclubs for that very purpose, but they’re going to have to wait until Friday at the earliest after weather forced the closure of Copper Face Jacks on Harcourt Street on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
“The feckin’ Beast from the East” has been blamed for the decision to close the nightclub, which we imagine would have attracted a significant number of customers considering that all colleges in Dublin (and the country) won’t re-open until Monday.

In the interests of safety, it is an eminently sensible decision, of course, and we’re sure that regulars will make up for their absence with an extra appearance or two next week.
Who knows, this episode might even feature in Coppers the Musical, coming your way this summer…
