Summer trip to the Windy City anyone?

Icelandic airline WOW air has announced new routes to Chicago from Dublin and Cork, starting from this summer.

The four-times weekly flights to Chicago O’Hare Airport will commence on July 13, with prices starting from €139 one-way, including taxes.

The Dublin and Cork routes will run four times a week – Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays – all year round, but passengers will have to factor in a stop in Reykjavik along the way.

News of the Chicago routes comes after WOW air recently announced details of flights from Dublin and Cork to Pittsburgh, one of nine cities in the US and Canada that will be serviced from Ireland once the Chicago route opens in the summer, alongside Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, Montreal, New York, San Francisco, Toronto and Washington D.C.

Commenting on the new routes, Skúli Mogensen, CEO of WOW air, said: “We are very pleased to be flying WOW air passengers from Dublin and Cork to the Windy City. Chicago is one of the USA’s most iconic and important cities, and is steeped in history and culture.

“The addition of Chicago to WOW air’s growing list of destinations is part of our ongoing strategy to deliver even greater flexibility and convenience to our passengers, with more connections to North America via our Reykjavik hub.”
