Man United plan £10million bid plus Carrick for Everton’s Rodwell

Man United are set to offer £10million for Everton starlet Jack Rodwell with Michael Carrick heading to Goodison Park in part-exchange.

The Sun report says that Alex Ferguson hopes to close the deal before the transfer window closes on Wednesday but Everton boss David Moyes will find it difficult to part with his England Under-21 international.

Carrick has found himself out-of-favour at Old Trafford so far this season and Ferguson sees Rodwell, who has been likened to Rio Ferdinand due to his ability in both defence and midfield, as a long-term replacement.
