Contestant Paije Richardson doesn’t have the style X Factor

He's already returned from being rejected in the early stages of the reality show, yet X Factor star Paije Richardson's biggest challenge may be in dressing himself properly.

This year has been one of the most intriguing contests the X Factor has had in years – no we’re not warbling on about ‘Our Mary’, every week we think it’s worth tuning in to see what the show’s stylists have done to the once-fresh faced contestants that won us over in the audition stages.

Treyc (oh, how we hate having to spell it that way) is treated a new weave every week, reject Storm was turned into Jim Carrey’s Riddler from Batman Forever and One Direction’s penchant for brown boots and untucked chinos has turned them into a dead ringer for a possible young fox hunting troupe.

Yet, for all the style disasters we’ve been privy to each Saturday night, we know that in most cases the poor contestants have been forced to climb into such bizarre creations at the whim of ITV – on the other hand, contestant Paije Richardson should have no such qualms, as he’s been dressed like a lunatic since week one.

What is going on?!

With his 'ironic' Kid N'Play hi-top fade hairdo and predilection for fur neckscarves and man satchels, Paije's has a scattergun approach to fashion - if you wear every conceivable fashion trend at the same time, something is bound to stick. Pictured above on a break from rehearsals, the X Factor hopeful combined red high-tops, a green gilet, a cricket v-neck sweater and what appears to be pajamas for a quick nip to the shops. Thankfully someone, somewhere, was able to photograph the horror.

We don't know what awaits Paije, 19, on his X Factor journey yet the former fashion student (!) is certainly making a name for himself in the style stakes, for better or for worse. Wait, no it's actually just for worse.
