Celtic linked with €7m defender

Sunderland centre-half Anton Ferdinand is the latest defender linked with a move to Celtic.

Neil Lennon is considering a move for the centre-half, according to reports in the Sunday Mail, as Steve Bruce is apparently ready to let Ferdinand leave.

The 25-year-old, who has 17 caps for the English under-21 side, joined the Black Cats from West Ham in 2008 for €7 million, but has fallen behind Titus Bramble, John Mensah and Manchester City loanee Nedum Onouha in the pecking order.

Linked with a move away from Parkhead are Glenn Loovens and Georgios Samaras.
