Lengthy tailbacks have been reported on major routes around Dublin following collisions on the M1 and the M50 on Friday afternoon.
A multi-vehicle collision on the M50 near junction 7 Lucan has been the source of major delays, with commuters complaining of lengthy tailbacks at one of the busiest times for traffic of the week.

M50 SB: The collision on the M50 SB at J7 has been cleared with all lanes now reopened. Traffic is still heavy and back to J4 Ballymun.

On the M1 Dublin to Belfast road, meanwhile, Dublin Fire Brigade and ambulance services were called to deal with two road traffic collisions between Junction 4 Donabate and Junction 5 Balbriggan.
Dublin Fire Brigade reported having left the scene by approximately 5pm on Friday.

M1: Due to the collision on the M1 Northbound traffic is currently back to J3 Swords. Where possible the R132 could be a good alternative.
