2fm presenter Nicky Byrne stepped into the mentoring role recently to take RTÉ’s Stephen Byrne through his paces for his first time driving a car.
The former Westlife singer ran Stephen through the basics, reeling off a list of things to check before starting the car.
Beginning with important tips like “check your hair” and making sure that you should have the brakes, seatbelt and 2fm on before starting the car.
The boys took the car for a trip around Fair City’s Carrigstown, stopping to see if they could wangle some food and drink out of the locals.
Stephen was a bit of a nervous driver, stop-starting the car every few feet until he got used to it and screaming involuntarily on a number of occasions, but surprisingly picked up the basics pretty quickly, cruising around the little village by the end of the two minute video.
It must have been the spectacular teaching skills of Nicky Byrne who remained cool, calm and collected throughout the entire video.
