Hunt for the Wilderpeople

Metacritic rating: 81% Watch it because: Sweet, funny and incredibly unique. We opted for this Kiwi comedy as the best film of 2016. It's an absolute gem.

Sing Street

Metacritic rating: 79% Watch it because: Teenage defiance has never been this catchy and uplifting.

Straight Outta Compton

Metacritic rating: 72% Watch it because: We defy anyone not to be absolutely pumped as the credits roll.

Groundhog Day

Metacritic rating: 72% Watch it because: Sometimes, we all just want to punch Ned in the face.

The Fundamentals of Caring

Metacritic rating: 65% Watch it because: It's sweet without being schmaltzy. Also, Paul Rudd is a king (exhibit A)

Tucker and Dale vs Evil

Metacritic rating: 65% Watch it because: A perfect mix of gore, heart and laughs. The 'going camping?' gag is absolutely hilarious.

Slumdog Millionaire

Metacritic rating: 86% Watch it because: It didn't win those Oscars for no reason.

The Young Offenders

Rotten Tomatoes rating: 100% Watch it because: Two absolute gobshites that don't give a damn about anyone else. Raw and funny in equal measure.

Ace Venture: Pet Detective

Metacritic rating: 37% (Who are these people?) Watch it because: I'm looking for Ray Finkle...and a clean pair of shorts. A timeless cult-classic.

The Big Lebowski

Metacritic rating: 69% Watch it because: Perfect watching for when you want to do absolutely nothing apart from drinking White Russians...just like the Dude. Abide.

Back to the Future

Metacritic rating: 86% Watch it because: Be honest, we all wanted to be Marty McFly.

In Bruges

Metacritic rating: 67% Watch it because: A genuine cult-classic that's endlessly quotable. Funny, tragic, redemptive and heartbreaking in equal measure. Flawless.

Role Models

Metacritic rating: 61% Watch it because: Nobody does pissed off and sarcastic quite like Paul Rudd. Yet again, proof that Rudd is a king (exhibit B)

I Love You, Man

Metacritic rating: 70% Watch it because: Rudd = King (exhibit C) See you later Jobin!
