We are in full agreement as well.
Many viewers of Netflix’s new epic sci-fi series 3 Body Problem are calling on the streamer to renew the show for a second season.
Created by Game of Thrones makers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, alongside Alexander Woo, the series is based on the acclaimed Three-Body trilogy of sci-fi novels by Chinese writer Liu Cixin.
It centres around a group of scientists friends living in the present-day UK as they investigate the mysterious deaths of several of their colleagues.
This is all the while they and the rest of Earth experience a series of bizarre, seemingly unexplainable phenomena.
This plotline is also intercut with another set in ’60s China where a young female scientist and political prisoner is recruited by the country’s government to work on a top secret project.
Featuring some Game of Thrones alum amongst its large ensemble cast such as John Bradley, Jonathan Pryce and Liam Cunningham, 3 Body Problem has been quite well-received – boasting a 77% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Particularly praise-worthy is how the series manages to tell such a complicated story – both in its deployment of philosophical and scientific concepts, as well as in how it spans decades and continents – in a way that is incredibly engrossing and exciting to watch.
A testament to this is how many people appear to have already binge-watched 3 Body Problem’s eight-episode first season and are already begging Netflix to make more of the show.
The creators of the series have signalled their intention to make a second and third season of the programme, stating that the Cixin’s follow-up novels are even better and more ambitious than the original book.
However, Netflix’s reputation for cancelling many of their shows after one or two seasons despite decent reviews – examples of this include 1899, Archive 81, The Midnight Club, Mindhunter, The OA and The Society – has left many fans worried about the new 3 Body Problem adaptation’s future.
You can see a sample of some tweets from fans begging the streamer for the more of the show right here:
Watch the "3 body problem" series on @NetflixIndia, it is engaging and fast to begin with, and a little slow and intriguing at the middle thereafter leaves you wanting for the next season. The producer says, the book 2 and 3 are even better.. let's wait for the season 2 🤞

I’ve really struggled to get into any tv shows recently. I tried a ton of the popular ones and just zoned out. But I really loved 3 body problem! Smart, innovative and unique sci-fi that we rarely see. I really hope Netflix doesn’t do its usual thing and we get a season 2. 🙏🏻

I'm not convinced 3 BODY PROBLEM will be renewed by @Netflix. I really loved it…but it's not really one for the masses…and I can't begin to imagine how'd they'd make a season 2 and 3, because they'd be so off the charts DIFFERENT and WILD.

3 Body Problem did an amazing job of setting up all of the main characters arcs in the first season and I’m stoked to see them blow our minds in season 2.

Imagine what the GoT guys can accomplish with a COMPLETED trilogy?
You guys please watch ‘3 Body Problem’ on Netflix, so we can get season 2 and 3.

Do it for us sci-fi nerds 🙏🏼 #3BodyProblem
That’s 3 Body Problem finished. Really enjoyed it once I got my head around what was actually going on. Definitely ready for season 2 as long as Netflix don’t bin it off 🫣
