Here are the 5 best movies on TV this evening

best movies on tv tonight

Pickings are not exactly plentiful this evening, but all is not lost.

In an effort to keep spirits up considering we haven’t even reached hump day yet, now is probably a good time to remind you that, as of tomorrow, THE PREMIER LEAGUE IS BACK!

If you’re a football fan, that will pretty much sort your evening viewing schedule for the next few weeks, which will come in very handy on nights like tonight when the selection of movies on the box is… somewhat sparse.

Still, there’s always Crocodile Dundee and a Brad Pitt war movie that possibly didn’t get as much credit as it deserved when released in 2014.

Without further ado, the best movies on the box this Tuesday evening…

Crocodile Dundee II – Film4, 6.45pm

It was always going to be hard to top the original and the sequel lacks the novelty, charm and spark that the first movie had in spades.

Not great, but not terrible either.

Welcome to the Jungle – Comedy Central, 9pm

The Rock and Seann William Scott might not make the ideal match on paper, but they make it work in this 2003 action caper. Also, having Christopher Walken in your movie is never a bad thing.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back – Film4, 9pm

Never Go Back, the title reads. If only those involved in this sequel had taken that advice.

Fury – ITV4, 10pm

Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Bernthal and Michael Pena feature as US soldiers in Nazi Germany as World War II draws to a close.

The pick of the bunch on the box tonight.

Gnaw – SyFy, 10pm

We’re not going to lie to you, you’re going to need a pretty strong stomach to be able to tolerate this just before bedtime.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
