The third entry in the much-loved Kingsman series is available to watch at home this week!

Action fans, rejoice!

If you’re looking for a movie filled with great actors and great explosions, then look no further!

The King’s Man is available to watch on Disney+ right now, and here are five reasons why you should check it out…

ONE. It continues the story of Kingsman

Released in 2014, Kingsman: The Secret Service was a massive critical and commercial success, telling the story of a new recruit (Taron Egerton) to a gentleman’s spy agency, as he’s trained by his handler (Colin Firth), while trying to stop a megalomaniacal tech genius (Samuel L. Jackson) from taking over the world.

Three years later, we got Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which expanded the action to the States, bringing in some of the Statesmen (including Channing Tatum, Halle Berry and Jeff Bridges) to try to thwart another evil inventor (Julianne Moore).

For anyone who would like to see the origins of the Kingsman organisation, then The King’s Man is an absolute must-watch, taking us back to 1902 and the creation of the top secret spy group.

TWO. The plot revolves around real world events

While the Kingsman organisation is fictional, the plot of this movie is very much tied into real world events. A group of shady individuals have plans to kickstart a world war, which involves the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and the political reactions of King George, Kaiser Wilhelm and Tsar Nicholas, the actual leaders of the UK, Germany and Russia at the time.

We’ve also got President Woodrow Wilson and Grigori Rasputin involved in the overall plot, so any history buffs out there will be very impressed by how all of these real people and events are folded into this spy story.

THREE. Ralph Fiennes gets to be a proper action movie star

In the first Kingsman movie, the movie-loving world got to see Colin Firth in a very different light. One of the kings of the rom-com genre got to kick so much ass in the movie, with the opening bar fight scene and the church brawl being two stand out sequences.

This time around, Ralph Fiennes gets to fill that role. While he has appeared in Bond movies before, Fiennes was rarely in the thick of the actual action. The King’s Man puts him in front and centre for some of the movie’s biggest set-pieces.

FOUR. It has an incredible set of actors in supporting roles

Okay, deep breath… Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace), Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill), Matthew Goode (Watchmen), Tom Hollander (Pirates of the Caribbean), Harris Dickinson (Trust), Daniel Brühl (Captain America: Civil War), Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Stanley Tucci (The Devil Wears Prada) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Tenet) all feature.

That is, we think you’ll agree, a very impressive list of incredible performers.

FIVE. The action set-pieces are spectacular

As mentioned above, Fiennes gets to throw himself into some great action set-pieces, and The King’s Man will most definitely satisfy the adrenaline rush required by action movie fans. From an incredible hand-to-hand(-to-sword!) fight scene with Rasputin, to an intense sequence at the front lines of World War I, to a climax that – without getting into spoilers – involves a crashing plane, a mountain climb, a goat, an isolated shed and a big shoot out.
