Our TV movie pick for tonight (Sunday, 8 February) is Oblivion, the visually stunning 2013 sci-fi action film.
The movie stars Tom Cruise (Top Gun: Maverick), Andrea Riseborough (Mandy), Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace), and Morgan Freeman (The Dark Knight Trilogy) in a post-apocalyptic tale set decades after Earth has been devastated by war with an alien force.
Cruise plays Jack Harper, one of the last drone repairmen stationed on Earth, who begins to question everything he knows after rescuing a mysterious woman from a crashed spacecraft.
The cast also features Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones), Melissa Leo (The Fighter), and Zoë Bell (Death Proof), rounding out a strong ensemble that brings emotional depth and intensity to the film’s high-concept premise.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy, Top Gun: Maverick), Oblivion showcases a blend of striking visuals, atmospheric world-building, and a moody tone.
Upon its release, the film was met with positive reviews, earning praise for its visuals, ambition, and Cruise for his performance.
