Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman dies at the age of 46 in New York City

RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Academy Award-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman has been found dead at his New York City apartment, according to sources in the US.

Sky News reports that he died of “an apparent drug overdose.”

He leaves behind a partner and three children.

The New York Police Department is investigating the death of the 46-year-old, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Hoffman won a Best Actor Oscar for his role in Capote in 2005, and has starred in countless other critically acclaimed films including The Master, Magnolia, Boogie Nights, The Talented Mr Ripley and Scent Of A Woman.
