Michael Douglas confirmed the sad news.
Val Kilmer is reportedly suffering from oral cancer.
Following reports that the 56-year-old was bleeding from the throat in January 2015 and doctors found his tumour in October 2015, Kilmer never talked about his medical condition.
Friend to the actor and his former co-star Michael Douglas was recently at a Q&A in London where he talked about the 1996 film The Ghost and the Darkness.
According to Variety, the film also starred Val which prompted Michael to clarify his friend’s current health.
“Val was a wonderful guy who is dealing with exactly what I had, and things don’t look too good for him,” Douglas said. “My prayers are with him. That’s why you haven’t heard too much from Val lately.”
