Adrian Kennedy has quit his hugely popular slot on FM104’s late night phone in show to switch a mid-morning slot with 98FM

Kennedy and co-host Jeremy Dixon have moved to the 10am to 12pm slot on 98FM, as they will go head to head with Newstalk’s big signing in the transfer window Pat Kenny and RTE’s Sean O’Rourke.

According to The Independent, an insider said that there was “no bad feeling. No one minds working nights but after 16 years Adrian and Jeremy have simply had enough and want a daytime job”.

98fm are banking on the fact that Kennedy and Dixon can bring some of their audience with them to the morning slot, as they had further growth in the most recent JNLR figures, but it remains to be seen how they will apply their unique style to a different time slot.

Gervaise Slowey, CEO of Communicorp, released a statement saying that the company was delighted to welcome Kennedy and that his show “reaches right into the heartland of our target audience…and this addition to 98FM will add to our exciting on-air offering”.
