A spin-off to a massively popular series, its first two episodes are streaming now.
Agatha All Along, the spin-off to the massively popular Marvel series WandaVision, has just premiered on Disney+.
Set after the events of WandaVision, the new superhero show follows the villainous witch Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn, Glass Onion) as she recruits some unlikely allies on her quest to regain her former powers.
The plot synopsis reads:
“The infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth Teen (Joe Locke, Heartstopper) helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing.
“Together, Agatha and this mysterious Teen pull together a desperate coven, and set off down, down, down The Road…”
Co-starring Aubrey Plaza (The White Lotus) and Patti LuPone (Penny Dreadful), since its first two episodes have premiered on Disney+, reviews have started pouring in for Agatha All Along.
You can read a sample of some of the glowing write-ups right here:
AV Club: “Let’s all just soak in the prospect of going on a Wizard Of Oz-style adventure with a witch coven led by Kathryn Hahn.”
Episodic Medium: “Agatha All Along ultimately belongs less to the live action superhero canon than it does to the witch one—a proud tradition that includes everything from The Wizard of Oz to The Witches of Eastwick.”
Sydney Morning Herald: “In Kathryn Hahn’s hands, it is a real fusion of writing and performance, the result being a brilliant, capricious villainess who is also, depending on your perspective, the show’s heroine.”
TheWrap: “Like a delicious potion with no side effects.”
Agatha All Along’s first two episodes are streaming now on Disney+. The rest of its nine episodes will drop weekly on Thursdays.
