Is that... is that people riding sharks into battle? We are 100% here for this.
This weekend sees the San Diego Comic-Con in full swing, which means the movie houses are showing off the biggest projects they've got coming up over the next few months (and, in some cases, years).
Warner Brothers have already been making fans drop their jaws with the latest trailers for Godzilla: King Of The Monsters (here) and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald (and here), but their latest additions are part of their DC Universe, and it seems they have continued to learn their lessons from the fan reactions to Dawn Of Justice and Justice League.
Despite both of the new movies coming from well-known horror directors, both of the new DCU movies have a huge sense of fun about them, which is exactly why people come to these movies in the first place, and is also why fans reacted WAY more positively to Wonder Woman than they did to, say, Man Of Steel.
First up:
AQUAMANWho's in it? Jason Momoa continues on his story from Justice League as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, this time forced to return to Atlantis to stop his brother Orm (Patrick Wilson) from declaring war on all of humanity. Amber Heard is on hand as Mera, the voice of reason and serial ass-kicker, Nicole Kidman is Queen Atlanna (aka Aquamom), and Willem Defoe, Randall Park and (bizarrely) Dolph Lundgren are also kicking about the place.
Who is directing it? James Wan, the guy behind Saw, Insidious, The Conjuring and Fast & Furious 7.
When is it out? 14 December 2018
Trailer Highlight? There appears to be a war involving people riding sharks into battle. So... we're 100% in.
And next we have...
SHAZAM!Who is in it? First things first, we didn't put that exclamation point there by accident, it is in the official title of the movie. It stars Asher Angel as Billy Batson, a good kid who is gifted a superpower by The Wizard (Djimon Hounsou), which turns him into the Superman-like Shazam! (Zachary Levi) whenever he says the word aloud. Adam Brody, Mark Strong and Jack Dylan Grazer are also in the mix.
Who is directing it? David F. Sandberg, the guy behind Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation.
When is it out? 5 April 2019
Trailer Highlight? "You look at me and you say 'Why so dark? You're a disable foster kid, you've got it all!'"
