We love to see it.

If you’re caught up on the lore behind Ayo Edebiri and her connections to Ireland, you’ll be glad to know that she once again gave her adopted home nation a shout out at the Emmys last night.

The Bear star won Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at the prestigious awards show last night, to go along with her Critics’ Choice and Golden Globes sweep for her role as Sydney Amadu in the hugely popular Disney+ show.

On the red carpet there was no escape from the the questions over her Irish links and she didn’t disappoint in her answer.

Ayo Edebiri gives Ireland another shout out following Emmys win

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, the topic of Ireland was brought up to Edebiri.

“Now you have the country of Ireland that has fallen completely and madly in love with you,” said interviewer Nischelle Turner.

The 28-year-old replied by saying:

“Shout out to my people. Shout out to Derry, shout out to Cork, shout out to Killarney, shout out to Dublin.”

Going even further, the interviewer asked if she was aware of the love she was getting online and especially through Twitter from Irish people.

While explaining she wasn’t on Twitter anymore (we completely understand), Edebiri said she was “aware generally of my connection to Ireland.”

She then read out a couple of Tweets, with one saying, “I hope Ayo Edebiri develops a career long relationship with the country of Ireland and what was once a joke becomes something lasting and tender,” to which she replied that she was “grateful.”

At this point, we’re getting a national holiday the next time she decides to visit Ireland. A true national treasure.
