Prime Video has just released the first clip from Bait, its new comedy series focused on the hunt for the actor to play the next James Bond.
The six-part show is created by Oscar-winner Riz Ahmed, star of the recent thriller movie Relay and someone who in real-life has been floated as a potential 007.
This experience seems to have inspired his new project, in which he also plays the lead character, a struggling actor whose life begins to spiral over four frenetic days as he auditions "for a career-defining role".
"His family, ex-lover and the entire world weigh in on whether he is the right man for the job," the plot synopsis adds.
As revealed in the first clip for the comedy, that career-defining role is to be Daniel Craig's successor as Bond.
Adding to the meta element, meanwhile, is that Prime Video is run by Amazon, which also currently owns the rights to the 007 franchise.
The company are set to produce a new Bond film with a new star within the next few years.
Alongside Ahmed, Bait stars Guz Khan (Taskmaster), Ritu Arya (Polite Society) and Weruche Opia (I May Destroy You).
The comedy will be released on Prime Video on 25 March 2026. Check out its very funny first clip below:
