It will see Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson reunite with the director of In Bruges.
It has been 13 long years since In Bruges brought together the fantastically tragic comedy talents of Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, paired with writer/director Martin McDonagh.
Since then, everyone's careers have continued to skyrocket, including McDonagh, who re-teamed with Farrell for Seven Psychopaths, before going on to Oscar glory with Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
However, the trio are back together for new dark comedy-drama The Banshees Of Inisherin, and they're joined by other stellar Irish talent, including Barry Keoghan, Pat Shortt and Kerry Condon.
The movie's official synopsis is as follows:
"Set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland, The Banshees Of Inisherin follows lifelong friends Padraic (Farrell) and Colm (Gleeson), who find themselves at an impasse when Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their friendship.
"A stunned Padraic, aided by his sister Siobhan (Condon) and troubled young islander Dominic (Keoghan), endeavours to repair the relationship, refusing to take no for an answer. But Padraic's repeated efforts only strengthen his former friend’s resolve and when Colm delivers a desperate ultimatum, events swiftly escalate, with shocking consequences."
Released right in the middle of awards season, the film will receive its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September, followed by its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival a few weeks later.
The Banshees Of Inisherin is set to be released in cinemas on Friday, 21 October.
